This species is native to Europe and Greenland. Arnica is found in the mountains of much of Western, Central and Northern Europe, from Portugal to Scandinavia, although we can also find it in regions of Asia and North America. In the Iberian Peninsula, it is located in the Cantabrian mountain range and in the mountains of Galicia. In Catalonia, it is frequent exclusively in the Pyrenees, mainly in the subalpine region, in the Vall d’Aran and Alta Ribagorça in Capcir, Canigó and Ripollès. Generally, in Catalonia it is between 1,600 and 2,400 m above sea level.
